We're Getting Married!

The Bride
Jennifer Ko Jung
Brian and I met online. It peaked my interest that he described himself as a “God-lover” and had actively served in a homeless ministry for the last 7 years. For our first in-person date, he flew to Tulsa on July 4th weekend. After literal fireworks and a lot of talking, we were “in-like” with each other enough to give this long-distance dating thing a chance.
I knew Brian was going to propose the weekend I flew into Houston although he tried to be sneaky. All my suspicions were confirmed when his brother Jeff, rather than Brian, picked me up from the airport. There was a sweet letter from Brian, a very cute stuffed yellow duck, and my first clue in an extravagant scavenger hunt that Brian had planned out for me that day. I finally found him waiting for me in a lovely secluded area under a large oak tree in the park. He pulled out a photo-book he had created of special memories we had made together. After we got to reminisce for a bit, Brian asked me to marry him. At that moment, his friend (who was homeless and had incidentally been sleeping on a bench next to us) woke up and began joyfully shouting his excitement. So with this on one side of us, and the paparazzi of multiple nearby cameras, a video recording, and a cloud of witnesses on the other side, I happily said YES!
The Groom
Brian Thomas Lee
There has always been something about Jennifer since I first came across her profile on eHarmony. I have always been attracted to her love for God; her passion for all people of all backgrounds; her quirkiness and quick wit; and just that she’s just plain weird – who could resist that?
Over the course of our relationship, I have come to love her more on our many adventures together. I came to know her thoughtfulness on our first date as she took me to out to some places she knew I would enjoy – a museum, a sushi restaurant and a baseball game in Tulsa. I witnessed her love for people during a monthly ministry for the homeless I participate in. But wherever it may be: attending the Justice Conference, the weddings we enjoyed together or just the simplicity of chilling at a coffee shop, I always find something new to appreciate about her. As long as she is not trying to do doctor stuff to me when I’m not looking (and sometimes looking).
Is it no wonder that I want to live life and grow in all ways with her – and why I was so excited when she said, “Yes!” to my proposal.
